QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Membership in a Regulated College where its members can engage in the practice of psychotherapy
  • A Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, therapy or a RN (CPMHN(C)) is required
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience and membership providing communitybased assessment, consultation, treatment, education, and community development
  • Experience administering standardized assessments
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of community mental health client service needs
  • Experience in program evaluations
  • Competency in standard corporate software (Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, Outlook), capabilities in data entries and searches
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and other agencies in the community
  • Basic understanding of all relevant legislation including PHIPA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Duties include, but are not limited to)

  • Provides clinical mental health services adolescents and adults
  • Maintains a clinical caseload and provides psychotherapeutic interventions for various mental health concerns and/or various stressors to individuals, groups and families
  • Delivers comprehensive clientcentered mental health screening and assessments, consultations, treatment, followup and discharge planning
  • Initiates and evaluates the treatment and ongoing care plan, collaborates with consulting psychiatrist and other health care practitioners in treatment and followup
  • Documents, monitors, and reports clients' progress using standardized assessment tools and other evaluation methodologies
  • Monitors treatment modalities for efficacy and adverse reactions including pharmacological interventions and non
- pharmacological interventions

  • Liaises with community agency and/or care providers communicating any significant concerns/changes in client status or additional support and educational needs required
  • Provides education and preventative teaching to client, caregiver and/or care provider and/or community agency staff regarding illness/area of concern
  • Supports, precepts and provides leadership to colleagues, student interns and others to support clinical practice
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team member, the Clinician attends interdisciplinary team, department meetings, and other meetings as requested
  • Under the direction of their Clinical Manager, the Clinician may provide supervision of graduate students who are participating in clinical residency, internship or practicum placements
