- Notre Dame Elementary School, Greendale Public School (Niagara Falls)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting Centre Supervisor with managing the overall operation of the centre including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and province licensing.
- Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
- Managing administrative tasks such as processing payment fees, centre petty cash budgeting, and general communications.
- Understanding and enforcing all province regulations within the building.
- Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.
- Providing effective communication with families about their children.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Support in program with daily activities, role model positive engagement, expanding children's learning, developing relationships with children and families.
- Support staff with program planning/documentation
- Assist with safe arrival policy when unexplained absence, communicate with the school, and the parent/guardian
- Responsible for promoting a positive team (approach) work environment
- Support staff oneonone as issues and needs arise
- Work as a team member, assisting in the playrooms whenever necessary
- Work with centre in a 'team approach' model, with all groups, Outreach Program Facilitator, Resource Consultant, Supervisor, and Cook
- Adhere to all Ministry of Education How Does Learning Happen and Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years.
- Adhere to all Family and Children Services reporting child abuse regulation
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in an administrative role (i.e., next in charge)
- A Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of ECE
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of licensing and regulations
- Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
- First Aid and CPR
- QCCN Level 1 & 2
