1‐Infection Control Practitioner-Temporary Full Time
Infection Control
It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event
you are successful.
Under the direction of the Manager of Infection Prevention and Control, the Infection Control Practitioner is
responsible for gathering, analyzing and advising on infection control data and concerns. You will provide
infection control management and prevention for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
- Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Education:
- Degree in a health related field (i.e. Nursing, Registered Technologist, etc.)
- Current unrestricted license or registration from applicable regulatory body (i.e. College of Nurses of Ontario,
- CIC from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) and ability to maintain
- Completion of IPAC Canada endorsed infection control program
- Recent knowledge in Infection Control with current knowledge of infectious diseases and method to effectively
Skills/Abilities:
- Computer proficiency in word, power point and excel
- Excellent time management, problem solving and communications skills
- Demonstrates ability to work independently or a as part of a team
Criminal Records Check (CRC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions; and proof of
full vaccination of all required doses of a COVID‐19 vaccine approved by Health Canada to Occupational Health &
Safety.
