    Summary

Working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 40 hours per week with some overtime, Lafarge seeks individuals to perform manual and physical labour tasks at our Cement Terminal.


Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS policies to ensure that environmental health and safety are the priority of the business.
  • Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department in improving EHS performance and results.
  • Understands and performs safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout, emergency response, etc.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including operator log, maintenance records, safety & environment reports, etc.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the production equipment, conveyors and the plant by using brooms, shovels, hand tools, and electric and pneumatic tools.
  • Operation of various motorized equipment such as screw conveyors and bucket elevators
  • Operate an automated truck loading system and a cement transfer system.
  • Use a computer operating system for truck loading (SAP).
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)

Qualification Profile

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum of oneyear minimum experience working in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of the use of various tools
  • Ability to work shifts (days, nights, weekends)
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Aptitude for manual and physical labour
  • Must be willing to learn the operating parameters of equipment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow all safety and housekeeping guidelines and policies.
