Job Summary

Salary:
$44,000 yearly plus $3.00 per hour Government Wage Enhancement
Since 1980, Pioneer Youth Services operates residential treatment homes for children and youth with behavioural, social, emotional, and psychological disorders

Requirements
:
G-Class Driver's License
First Aid certification and Non -Violent Crisis Intervention training would be an asset.

Responsibilities and Duties

Working "on the floor" in a group home setting.
Participating in resident assessments
Preparing internal reports, form in a timely manner
Counseling residents individually and/or in a group setting
Carrying out regular, planned programs and activities
Providing educational support services as necessary
Monitors interaction between individual residents and intervene if issues arise
Teaching social and life skills through interaction and modelling
Liaise with family and social worker of resident

- participate and assist in planning of the summer program

Lead, monitor and assist in children's therapeutic groups and meetings
Completing logs and incident reports as required
Administer medications

Need to be available for some weekends, evenings & stat days (not overnights)

Qualifications and Skills

Strong behaviour management skills
At least 1 year children/youth experience in a residential treatment (group home) setting for children and young adults with emotional, physical, social, behavioural challenges and/or dual diagnosed youths
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to build productive and supportive relationships with both staff and residents
