Lumenus Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a

YPNFA Coordinator (Young Parents No Fixed Address).


The YPNFA Coordinator is responsible for supporting and ensuring ongoing collaboration within the Young Parents No Fixed Address (YPNFA) network to enhance sector capacity by identifying and responding to issues/barriers related to obtaining and maintaining housing, supports or services for vulnerable young families in Toronto.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate work of YPNFA network.
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the YPFNA network by providing support to the work of YPNFA and acting as the networks' voice.
  • Participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of network activities.
  • Maintain project reporting for the network.
  • Facilitate monthly network meetings schedule, location, minutes and agenda.
  • Identify new and emerging trends and work with network to develop responses.
  • Participate in all subcommittees of YPNFA providing support and information as needed.
  • Record notes, statistics and other details as per agency policy.
  • Participate in quality assurance, evaluation and research activities, as required.
  • Participate in training provided by the Agency, which is specific to job requirements.
  • Attend bimonthly Wraparound team meetings.
  • Work directly with the Manager of the Wraparound Process and the Wraparound Subject Matter Team, including the Director of Community Counselling when necessary to problem solve and plan accordingly if problems or conflicts occur.
  • Strict adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Health and Safety: Adheres to the organizational health and safety policies and practices along with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

This includes but is not limited to:

ensuring safe workplace practices, protecting the health and safety of themselves and others and maintaining cleanliness in the workplace.


  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Child & Youth Worker Diploma, Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within the social services field.
  • Experience working with the YPNFA network is preferred.
  • Computer Literacy including: Microsoft Office, internet navigational skills, accurate database entry, and continuously developing technology proficiency.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of the social service sector within the Greater Toronto area.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement in conflictual and stressful situations.
  • Advanced knowledge of issues affecting, and resources supporting marginalized young parents in Toronto.
  • Ability to work closely with YPNFA to ensure smooth operation and good communication within the network.
  • Welldeveloped presentation and facilitation skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Work flexible hours in order to meet the demands of direct service requirements.
  • Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening program.
