Three positions available

Two positions are 1.000 FTE

One position is 0.500 FTE


Position Summary:


The Speech Language Pathologist Consultant will work as a member of the Specialized Learning Supports team to provide trans-disciplinary support to school personnel serving students with diverse learning needs who are in Kindergarten through Grade 12.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- providing consultative services and supports to schools and families for children in Kindergarten classrooms through to Grade 12 who have speech language challenges
- providing intervention and assessments
- recommending appropriate communication systems and programming for students with complex learning needs through collaborative partnerships with teachers and other professionals
- training, coaching and mentoring educational assistants and speech language assistants in the implementation of targeted and specialized strategies
- providing expertise to the learning team in the areas of specific communication disorders, expressive language, receptive language, literacy, social communication, speech sound production, assistive technology, and alternative/augmentative communication
- discussing, demonstrating, modeling and providing communication strategies to support adaptations and modifications of the curriculum


Education/Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- minimum of three years related experience in classroom-based service delivery to children
- excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills
- experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication methods


Rate of Pay:

1.000 FTE position: $3, $4,344.90 bi-weekly

0.500 FTE position: $1, $2,172.45 bi-weekly
