Job description

Mill-Fab is seeking a skilled Licensed Millwright to join our team. This is an existing vacancy. The candidate's shift will run from 6am to 2pm daily, working in a food plant setting, located in the Belleville area, with some exceptions as noted under Shift Coverage.

Mill-Fab offers a competitive wage of $45.35 an hour, with an increase after 3 Months, for this position. We offer Matched RSP Contribution Pension Plan [up to $ a year], Benefits, Boot Allowance, Uniforms and Quarterly Down Time bonuses. Quarterly performance bonus will be paid out based on Plants Performance Matrix.

SHIFT COVERAGE:

  • Shift coverage cannot be refused unless you have Holidays scheduled prior to the shift.
  • Shift Coverage can only be refused if the coverage is requested with less than 12hours notice.
  • Shift coverage is covered @ regular time any day or night of the week unless it is a statutory holiday.
  • Weekly schedule will be adjusted when shift coverage is required so you don't work over 49 regular hours in one week or a total of 85.75 hours in two weeks.
  • Any shift covered with less than 12 hours' notice will be covered at the standard overtime rates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and Interpret blueprints.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment.
  • Complete Equipment PM's
  • Attend to daytime break downs and improvements
  • Working as a team member or alone to complete projects.
  • Observing safety procedures and meeting all safety codes.
  • Obey, respect and follow all Lockout/ Tagout procedures safely and responsibly.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts and various lifts.
  • Read SDS [Safety Data Sheets] and act in accordance with the hazards, take the necessary precautions and use the PPE [Personal Protection Equipment] required.
  • Willing to work overtime if needed based on project demands.
  • Must work all shutdowns whether it's through the week or on weekends
  • Must work 12 hour days during a Shut Down unless the Supervisor says it is not required.
  • Must Cover Shift Vacation, Sick Days and Sick Leave scheduled to you by the Supervisor.

SHUTDOWNS:

  • Overtime will be paid after 8 hours worked Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime on Saturdays.
  • Double time on Sundays.
  • double time on Statutory Holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • License Millwright with experience in a Food Plant.
  • Comfortable and experience working from Heights.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Capable of troubleshooting Production Equipment.
  • Experience in a Food Plant Environment [GMP Policies].
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Experience operating a Genie and Scissor lift.
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50lbs, walk and be on your feet for much of your day.
  • Valid driver's license in GOOD STANDING.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The Employee will be working at a Food plant.
  • Overtime will be required from time to time and may include weekends depending on the project.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical requirements of the job are outlined below:

Strength Guidelines:

  • This position can be physically demanding at times and may require lifting and moving heavy loads.
  • There will be a lot of walking, and you will be on your feet most of the day.

Motion Parameters:

  • Working in tight spots and at times confined spaces.
  • Climbing ladders and working from Heights.
  • Climbing stairs, walking, squatting, and kneeling.

Vision and Hearing Requirements:

  • Loud noises will be encounter and hearing protection will be required.
  • Proper Safety glasses, and other eye protection as required.

Psychological Demands:

  • Problem solving and quick thinking resulting in adjustments being made.
  • Reading blueprints and other materials.
  • Interpret drawings, data and documents.
  • Working Safely at all times.
