The Position:

Neelands is searching for an Accounting Assistant. This position will report directly to the Controller.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage, calculate, and process entries for Assets, depreciation, and amortization
  • Manage and process entries for prepaids
  • Reconcile monthend account balances (clearing accounts, inventory, AR, AP, etc.)
  • Process and reconcile monthly maintenance contract revenue
  • Process journal entries for reallocation as required
  • Generate, and review project workinprocess report and process entries
  • Generate and analyze monthly departmental gross margin reports
  • Process bank reconciliation
  • Process HST/GST, PST remittances
  • Assist with preparation of monthly US state sales tax returns
  • Process entries for monthly accruals
  • Full cycle accounting for smaller company's books
  • Intercompany transaction and reconciliations
  • Other monthend processes as required
  • Assist with year end processes and audit
  • Other finance tasks as required

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
years experience in a similar role

  • CPA in progress
  • Advance skill set in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent analytical skills
