Neelands is searching for an Accounting Assistant. This position will report directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, calculate, and process entries for Assets, depreciation, and amortization
- Manage and process entries for prepaids
- Reconcile monthend account balances (clearing accounts, inventory, AR, AP, etc.)
- Process and reconcile monthly maintenance contract revenue
- Process journal entries for reallocation as required
- Generate, and review project workinprocess report and process entries
- Generate and analyze monthly departmental gross margin reports
- Process bank reconciliation
- Process HST/GST, PST remittances
- Assist with preparation of monthly US state sales tax returns
- Process entries for monthly accruals
- Full cycle accounting for smaller company's books
- Intercompany transaction and reconciliations
- Other monthend processes as required
- Assist with year end processes and audit
- Other finance tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- CPA in progress
- Advance skill set in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent analytical skills
