Vice President, Corporate Client Group Finance


What is the opportunity?**As Vice President, Corporate Client Group - Finance (CCGF), you are part of the mid-market Corporate Banking team and play a key role in the realization of Corporate Client Group (CCG) objectives through the structuring, delivery and management of the bank debt of a targeted customer base. We target loan origination in the Canadian mid-market, including large Canadian subsidiaries of foreign multinationals, private and small cap public Canadian companies, and are responsible for meeting annually established targets for loan derived revenues and returns by providing advice to our partners on optimizing the use of lending in connection with broader RBC relationship goals.


What will you do?**- Support CCG relationship managers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions under direction of Director CCG Finance, including credit submissions and transaction presentations Support CCG relationship managers in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients under direction of Director CCG Finance

  • Follow up and engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, RBC Investments, Capital Markets, specialized teams in Commercial Financial Services (leasing, trade finance etc.), Personal Banking, and others
  • Work with Group Risk Management to ensure proper alignment with credit processes and client expectations Provide research, analysis, and data (market, industry, client, and competitor) to support CCG advice on the optimal amount of bank debt required to meet strategic objectives with each client relationship
  • Take part in the national team of CCG Finance underwriters committed to the delivery of quality credit products to RBC clients and targets
  • Provide analysis and support to Director CCG Finance and CCG Finance colleagues for CCG advice on risk and return associated with loan transactions contemplated as part of client strategies

What do you need to succeed?**
Must-have**- Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance with a strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements

  • Basic knowledge of credit, credit metrics, credit structuring and the capability to work through Loan Agreements and other legal documents
  • Strong skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to source data/research
  • Professional oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail in both written and financial work
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, prioritize work and multitask responsibilities while working on multiple projects
  • Well organized and able to set priorities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment

Nice-to-have**- MBA, CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFA

  • Work experience in corporate lending / corporate finance / corporate lending Trained in credit and accounting with an ability to manage complex concepts
