EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Location: 3438 Manning Dr, London, Ontario

Position Type:
Full-time - Permanent

Reporting:
Equipment Supervisor

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 5:00pm

Rate:
$20.75 per hour plus $1.00 afternoon premium, ($21.75/h)

Responsibilities:

In the position of Equipment Operator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act
Your main area of responsibility will be compactor hook up and working as a forklift operator.
When all the trailers are done being loaded you will be required to clean the compactor area and report to the tip floor for spotting duties.
Also, in this role you will be responsible for the support of the current transfer station Loader Operators.
Operation of any of the compactors as well as a Forklift and Skid Steer.
May be cross trained as a Backup Loader Operator to assist with business needs when required.

Requirements:

Previous compactor experience is a major asset
Completed the Miller Waste Systems Forklift/Skid Steer training course or a Forklift certificate.
Previous experience operating a Skid Steer will be preferential
Can work cooperatively with other machine operators
Are knowledgeable with pretrip inspections and maintenance of equipment
You will be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays with limited notice.
You must be a team player
Have proven safe working habits
Must be punctual with an excellent attendance record
Be comfortable to perform repetitive movements and stand for extended periods of time
