A career as an Analyst, in the Project Finance team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in modeling, underwriting, and executing project finance transactions.

In this role, you will play a lead role in the deal process while using your critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail to have a positive impact on the organization.


Your role:


  • Create complex financial modeling for projects
  • Ensure that the credit underwriting and the portfolio management are within the risk management parameters of the Bank
  • Perform internal risk assessments and Bank return analyses
  • Assist the team in the execution of project finance transactions
  • Perform due diligence and ensure indepth verifications of market studies and reports made available
  • Contribute to special projects, ad hoc initiatives as required

Your team:

This position reports to the Director, Project Finance in Montreal.

The Project Finance team is a leading franchise within the National Bank Financial Markets - Corporate & Investment Banking ("CIB") group.


You will be an integral part of the Project Finance team in the Montreal office supporting the team in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of project finance transactions.

Focus is on North America with some exposure to global project financings. Clients are located throughout North America, so some limited travel will be required.

Prerequisites:


  • Completion of an Undergraduate Degree or Graduate Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, or another relevant field
  • 12 years of experience in Project Finance, Investment Banking, Infrastructure, Engineering/Development, Commercial/Corporate Lending, Capital Markets, or other relevant areas
  • Strong financial modeling skills using spreadsheet software such as Excel
  • Able to multitask and manage conflicting priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactivity and business judgement
