What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will produce a variety of signs by:

Manufacturing silk screen process frames and cutting profilm for silk screen process printing.
Setting up silk screen using the knowledge of different inks used on various reflective and nonreflective materials.
Operating a computerized signmaker machine.

How do I qualify?:

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

You have skills in Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel and the ability to complete reports (such as Employee and Equipment time sheets, Work Reports, Accident Reports, Diary, etc.).
You have knowledge of the Traffic Control Manual for Roadway Work Operations and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
You have knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Essential Skills:

You have demonstrated coordination and dexterity to perform a variety of signmanufacturing tasks.
You are able to use a variety of handpowered tools, table saws, and drill presses.
You have the ability to follow and interpret sign layouts, and written and verbal instructions.
You have oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
You have the ability to work in a team environment, with minimum supervision and complete daily worksheets, often with tight deadlines.

Effective October 1, 2021, the OPS COVID-19 Safe Workplace Directive requires all Ontario Public Service employees to provide proof they are fully vaccinated, meaning they are fully vaccinated as defined by the Ministry of Health (refer to
:COVID-19 Fully Vaccinated Status in Ontario), including 14 calendar days have passed since receiving their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Employees who do not provide proof of full vaccination will be deemed 'not vaccinated' under the Directive and will be required to attend a vaccine education program and undergo regular rapid antigen testing.

Employees who are not vaccinated under the policy with a valid medical exemption will not be required to attend a vaccine education program but must undergo regular rapid antigen testing.
