What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will produce a variety of signs by:

  • Manufacturing silk screen process frames and cutting profilm for silk screen process printing.
  • Setting up silk screen using the knowledge of different inks used on various reflective and nonreflective materials.
  • Operating a computerized signmaker machine.

How do I qualify?:


Technical Knowledge and Skills:


  • You have skills in Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel and the ability to complete reports (such as Employee and Equipment time sheets, Work Reports, Accident Reports, Diary, etc.).
  • You have knowledge of the Traffic Control Manual for Roadway Work Operations and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • You have knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Essential Skills:


  • You have demonstrated coordination and dexterity to perform a variety of signmanufacturing tasks.
  • You are able to use a variety of handpowered tools, table saws, and drill presses.
  • You have the ability to follow and interpret sign layouts, and written and verbal instructions.
  • You have oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You have the ability to work in a team environment, with minimum supervision and complete daily worksheets, often with tight deadlines.

Effective October 1, 2021, the OPS COVID-19 Safe Workplace Directive requires all Ontario Public Service employees to provide proof they are fully vaccinated, meaning they are fully vaccinated as defined by the Ministry of Health (refer to
:COVID-19 Fully Vaccinated Status in Ontario), including 14 calendar days have passed since receiving their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.


Employees who do not provide proof of full vaccination will be deemed 'not vaccinated' under the Directive and will be required to attend a vaccine education program and undergo regular rapid antigen testing.

Employees who are not vaccinated under the policy with a valid medical exemption will not be required to attend a vaccine education program but must undergo regular rapid antigen testing.
