The position falls within the Distribution Department of the organization.Group Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, facilitating professional growth among team members, and reporting metrics and statuses to the Practice Manager and the customer.
They will provide leadership and direction to their direct reports and ensures that all projects meet their Cost, Quality and Timing metrics.
This role is central to maintaining and growing relationships with key client stakeholders and for providing overall governance for the engagement.
They will also be responsible for helping to grow the business and execute the current work-flow. They will oversee the design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kV.They will oversee engineering and design of overhead, URD, re-conductoring and asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit distribution design work packages.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the overall program plan for our engagement including technical capabilities, project management, resource management, performance management, competency development and customer management
- Monitor and communicate project portfolio health
- Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department, or those external to complete substation projects
- Provide training and guidance to direct reports
- Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects
- Promote engineering professionalism and standards
- Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include all scheduling, resources, and information for complex engineering
- Required to travel up to 50% of the time to client sites; duration of travel length may vary depending on project needs
- 5+ Years of managing large teams
- 10+ years of experience with electric utility distribution design projects
- 10+ years of experience in overhead, URD, reconductoring and asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit distribution design work package development
- 10+ years of experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects in urban and rural environments
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited) will count towards years of experience
- PE License is preferred but not required
- Proven technical/managerial capabilities in developins solutions to engineering and business problems and managing deliverables and client expectations
- Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution system design engineering standards, practices and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of NESC and other applicable codes and standards
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Demonstrate advanced ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary
- This position requires that you live near Seattle, Washington, Portland Oregon, Or Vancouver Canada
Pay:
From $180,000.00 per year
