    Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.

    Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

    Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

    An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

    Responsibilities

    [Enter Free Text Description here] The Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator will be a member of the Inclusion Team at Sunbury Downs College and accountable to the Principal through the Assistant Principal. Student Engagement and Wellbeing.

    The role has a prevention and early intervention focus which involves student counselling, developing engagement programs for students 'at risk', and establishing community links and partnerships. The Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator is responsible for building strong engagement and support programs and maintaining effective links with outside agencies. The Co-ordinator oversees the ' Student Services - Wellbeing Team' which includes: Youth Worker, Mental Health Practitioner, DET nurse and Chaplaincy Service and develops programs that foster improved outcomes in line with the College Strategic Plan.

    Duties and responsibilities of the role include but not restricted to:

    • counselling
    • building positive relationships with the students
    • be able to assess risk to student wellbeing including crisis management and risk assessments
    • case management of students
    • be able to liaise effectively with students, teacher, parents/carers, staff and non school based agencies complying at all times with professional guidelines and confidentiality
    • co-ordinate and manage programs including the development, implementation and the ability to lead programs, dealing with social skills, assertiveness and self esteem
    • promote network and develop/implement regional programs that assist students in their pathways beyond study at Sunbury Downs College
    • provide behaviour and wellbeing support
    • manage and oversee the operations of the Student Wellbeing Team which includes youth officer, mental health practitioner, DET nurse, Chaplaincy Service
    • implement and provide professional development as applicable to promote Student Wellbeing and Inclusion.

    Who May Apply

    A tertiary qualification in an Allied Health field (social work/youth work/mental health/psychology) or a related field is mandatory.

    Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.

    Sunbury Downs College is a vibrant Year 7 to 12 co-educational secondary college situated in the regional town of Sunbury. It is a growing co-educational secondary college with student enrolment numbers around 600
