Job Summary
To support our mission of serving people in need we are seeking a Thrift Store Clerk to join our team at The Salvation Army. In this role you will assist customers with their shopping experience provide excellent customer service operate a cash register process donations sort merchandise hang clothes price items unload inventory place stock in warehouse locations maintain store appearance tidy up restock shelves clean sweep dust mop lunchroom washroom common areas perform other related duties as assigned.
+Qualifications
- Completion of Secondary School
- Cash handling experience is required Knowledge and experience using a cash register debit machine and/or credit card processing is an asset Basic math skills required to calculate discounts and percentages reading skills Brand awareness would be an asset Attention to detail problem solving analytical skills Self-motivated/disciplined Lead by example demonstrate strong work ethic willingness learn adapt face change Maintain information confidence exercise good judgment Ability work independently participate cooperative team environment Excellent interpersonal integrity adaptability Represent organization positive professional engaging manner Exhibit good listening oral/written communication skills Ability undergo applicable screening background checks successfully that satisfactory The Salvation Army its sole discretion i.e. The Salvation Army Abuse Registry provide original copy Background Check Ability develop understanding support mission purpose The Salvation Army Canada implications position responsibilities
