Responsible for driving the Customer Maintenance & pricing activities for Tender business across Canada. Support Trade Management on volume and revenue increase for assigned Trade.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

File and close quotes for pricing matters and coordinate with Trade and Commercial Management.


Process Customer Tenders, working closely with Account Executives, HO and US Tender & Bids Teams to ensure customer tenders meet or exceed volume/revenue/contribution objectives as outlined in the budget.

Follow up on Tenders by conducting proactive telephone calls.

Provide quotes to tenders and ensure the rates are valid in the systems.

Propose volume potential & new opportunities to the Trade team, clearly reporting lost business with detailed information.

Collect market information on the competition's activities regarding rates, new & existing services, etc. and submit to your Manager on a consistent basis.

Work closely with customers, internal departments and overseas as partners in resolving issues and creating strong relationships

Assist with reporting regarding performance of the Tenders/Trades and the optimization of the quotation process.

Pricing and optimization (volume/revenue) of assigned trade lanes & services

Maintain and validate Tariffs & Special Rate Requests (SQ) in LARA

Updates guidelines, tariffs and Austral system; validate SQs and D&D requests, maintains accurate pricing sheets

Monitor price trends and competition to ensure that CMA CGM policies remain competitive in the market
Prepare and maintain updated vessel profile of service(s) and allocations - for Management approval. Trade Manager - ensuring clarity of strategy and management of space on the service
Analyze performance, on a regular and proactive basis, in order to assess relevance of policy, gaps with targets and propose adjustments in policy
Report on market, performance and important facts affecting performance (reporting duties)


Promote improved partnerships and agreements when closing deals with customers: long term agreements / mutual commitments / match back programs / value added services for assigned customers.

Strive for exceptional customer service and positive promotion of CMA CGM brand identity in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CANDIDATES MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORISED TO WORK IN CANADA*
    Education: University degree and transportation/logistics courses an asset

Experience: 2 years of experience in international transportation/ shipping/ logistics


Other:

Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills

Strategic vision and analytical skills

Ability to multi task time sensitive issues

Well versed in ALL Microsoft Windows based programs

Fluent in English (French is a plus)
