The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Procurement Manager, Rail & Transit to join our Transportation Systems team located at our Thornhill office.

Reporting to the Manager, this position will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and reporting on procurement strategy and functions to support major pursuits and projects.

This position involves extensive contact with the client third party agencies and project staff.

As a member of the Transportation Systems team, you will be given opportunities to use your transferrable skills to define processes, create execution plans, mentor the junior team members, and be the technical lead for multiple projects.

You will be supported by management to develop work plans and professional skills to become a strong leader in the consulting environment.

Reviewing, validating, monitoring, and reporting on the procurement strategy and schedule of the Contractor.
Participating in evaluation of and provide recommendation on Contractor's subcontractor selection and negotiation.
Auditing Contractor's compliance to established procedures and standards for project procurement.
Participating in working groups and other project meetings and reporting on all procurement activities.

What you'll bring to WSP
:

TECHINICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Certification from Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC), Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA), Supply Chain Canada or their predecessor/successors in purchasing and procurement management such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent.
15 years' experience with at least 8 years' experience in leading the procurement process for major capital construction project(s).
Rapid rail and transit experience is a requirement.
Experience with procurement as part of large scale infrastructure projects.
