    Job Title : Aviation Business Process & IT Architect Contractor

    Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) - Hybrid

    Contract Length- 3 -6 months, possible extension

    Estimate Start Date: Jan 15th, 2024

    Objective:

    Buchanan Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced contractor specializing in Aviation Business Process and IT Architecture to work with our clients' stakeholders. The primary goal is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of our clients current Business Process and IT landscape, identify challenges and inefficiencies, and propose strategic solutions for seamless integration and compliance with aviation regulations.

    Responsibilities :

    I. Current State Assessment:

  • Conduct a thorough examination of existing IT infrastructure, applications, and technologies.
  • Perform a detailed analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the applications and systems deployed within their environment.
  • II. Future State Planning:

  • Develop a strategic roadmap for the evolution of IT systems in the aviation vertical.
  • Perform an organizational impact analysis and provide recommendations for change management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align IT solutions with organizational goals.
  • Make recommendations for adopting new technologies and enhancing existing systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
  • III. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure proposed IT solutions adhere to aviation regulations, particularly IATA and Transport Canada requirements.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and communicate potential impacts on IT systems.
  • IV. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide guidance for the seamless integration of IT changes within aviation operations.
  • V. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed reports outlining the current state, future state recommendations, and a step-by-step plan for transformation.
  • Document all processes, procedures, and configurations for future reference and compliance.
  • VI. Qualifications of Resource:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years' experience working with aviation and/or logistics companies
  • Proven experience in aviation IT consulting, specifically air ambulance applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation logistics IT applications
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations, especially IATA and Transport Canada requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Project management experience.
