    Verland is hiring Exceptional People to provide Compassionate Care as a Residential Manager‑ IDD for our Residential locations - CLA division.

    24/7 on‑call. This is a salaried, exempt position.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home to ensure that daily programs and activities are carried out and documented across all shifts.
    • Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the house; reinforce the hierarchy of care and agency expectations.
    • Supervise staff and ensure the implementation of the individual programs.
    • Monitor goal and procedural objectives implemented by direct care staff and report findings to the Program Specialist / Program Specialist Manager.
    • Monitor direct care staff functions to ensure the safety and well‑being of the individuals.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Maintain accurate reporting of incidents and thorough documentation of relevant details.
    • Initiate and/or implement employee disciplinary procedures.
    • Resolve disputes in a fair and timely fashion by following established Policies and Procedures.
    • Interact within the community relative to the individual and group needs (i.e., activities, transportation, medical visits, and tours).
    • Act as a role model for appropriate employee dress and conduct per Policies and Procedures.
    • Maintain the safety of the individuals by recognizing conditions which present as safety or programmatic concerns.
    • Work as a Direct Support Professional as necessary to meet staffing requirements.
    • Report all unusual problems to the Program Specialist and/or Health Services Coordinator as appropriate.
    • Train and supervise newly hired direct care staff in the house and participate in the training and evaluation of assigned staff.
    • Ensure food menus and doctor‑prescribed diets are followed and that sufficient groceries are in the house; perform any shopping as needed.
    • Make certain that direct care staff complete required reports and documentation using stringent monitoring practices, training, and re‑education of staff.
    • Ensure that all materials and supplies needed for the homes are available, including maintenance issues at assigned homes and vehicle maintenance.
    • Conduct monthly fire drills and fire safety trainings as required by regulations.
    • Understand and comply with Verland's Mission and Policies and Procedures & HIPAA policies and educate staff on and enforce compliance with these policies.
    • Perform other related duties as required, including but not limited to participating in inter‑departmental ventures/committees/processes, participating in the Inter‑Disciplinary Team, maintaining and monitoring residents' adaptive and personal equipment, recommending goals & activities to the Program Specialist, completing and submitting inter‑departmental paperwork (e.g., FML, Worker's Compensation, Change of Status Forms), completing Medication Administration Practicums, monitoring and accurately reporting staff schedules, house budgets, expenses, and payroll, and attending in‑service training sessions and meetings as directed, including supervisory skill training.

    Requirements

    • Must be able/willing to be on‑call 24/7.
    • High school diploma or GED certificate required. A bachelor's degree in Education is preferred, with experience in the field of Human Services.
    • Must possess a working knowledge of residential practices and an understanding of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
    • Excellent verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with our individuals and staff.
    • Must posses and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
    • Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and have all state‑required clearances.
    • Capable of carrying out planned social, recreational, work, and study activities for a limited number of individuals.
    • Skilled in the ability to cope with day‑to‑day problems and to record and report observations of individuals' progress, responses, etc.
    • Able to maintain an empathetic attitude toward the individuals served.
    • Comprehension of, or capability of, learning the fundamental principles and practices of physical and mental health, including appropriate medical terminology.
