JOB DESCRIPTION:


The primary focus of the Accounting Associate role is to collect receivables, process payroll and related filings and JE's, assist with month end and year end close.

The Accounting Associate role will be located in Brampton, Ontario area with the possibility of a hybrid role.

:


  • Full payroll cycle process and submit biweekly payroll and related filings, reconciliation and posting of journal entries related to payroll and monthly government taxes, such as GST/HST, QST, WSIB, WCB, EHT, and respective filings.
  • Yearend government filings and reconciliation T4, T2200 WSIB, WCB, EHT, PIER report, etc.
  • Collect open receivables within customer payment terms, reconcile and maintain a clean AR subledger.
  • Identify and communicate problematic accounts, set credit limits and account holds.
  • Issue/release credits to customers.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with month end closing entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual payroll budget.
  • Provide monthly reporting.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Administer bank accounts, credit cards, group benefits, and payroll software.
  • Responsibility of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist with annual audit as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Accounting Associate job description
:


  • Understanding of Canadian employment standards regulations, payroll regulations and working experience using payroll processing software.
  • Minimum 2 years experience processing Canadian payroll.
  • Accounts receivable experience including reconciling accounts, issuing credits/debits, collections and posting cash receipts.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in a calm and professional manner.
  • Solid understanding of HST/GST/QST input tax credits, calculations, account reconciliations, and filings.
  • Ability to reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts and statements.
  • Experience with month end close process.
  • Knowledge of group benefits administration.
  • Solid understanding and experience with banking products such as EFT's, wire payments, online banking, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office 365, and NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn with mínimal training and grasp concepts quickly.
  • Be able to work independently and be resourceful, taking initiative.
  • Be able to work with mínimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be respect peers and work cohesively in a team perspective.
  • Diploma/Degree in accounting from a recognized school and minimum of 2 years general accounting experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Types:

Pay:

$35,370.98-$57,765.23 per year
