SALARY:$ $ rates)**Anvil Centre requires a regular part time Cultural Program Leader-Attendant (Recreation Leader-Attendant) to support the planning, administration and marketing of Anvil Studio programs and facilitate Anvil Studio rentals.

Under the direction of the Manager of Community Arts and Theatre and the Arts Program Coordinator, the incumbent will participate in the planning and development of arts-based programs and special events as well as support the delivery of registered programs, school programs, workshops, community exhibitions, special events and community rentals.

Core responsibilities include planning, administering and marketing arts programs and events; coordination of room set up/take down; supervision of community events and rentals; exhibition preparation and installation; registration and customer service; specialized art materials inventory management; gallery monitoring and building supervision.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Grade 12 (or equivalent) plus related experience in arts and cultural program planning and delivery;
  • Broad understanding of artistic media and materials;
  • Experience with exhibition installation, art handling;
  • Experience working in a community centre or arts and cultural centre;
  • Sound experience in building supervision;
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods, procedures, materials and equipment;
  • Experience with marketing, communications; proficiency with social media platforms;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program participants and rental customers;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and work as an effective team player;
  • Ability to make decisions, plan, coordinate and prioritize with mínimal supervision;
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor in personal presentation and conduct;
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check;
  • Preference may be given to those with experience with registration and membership software.
