What will you do?


In this role, Martin will provide you with training machine training and you will have an opportunity to further develop your skills in other departments as well.


  • Operate gang drills putting set screws into parts
  • Operate hydraulic key seater to install keyways
  • Operate radial drill to drill holes into large steel parts
  • Operate Mitts & Merrill key seater to machine keyways into sprockets, gears, couplings, etc.
  • Heat treat steel parts
  • Operate horizontal and vertical lathes
  • Reading and Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, or study sample parts for machining steps to be performed and plans process
  • Measure, examine, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using inspection instruments
  • Ensure the quality of parts produced meet the specified print and standard process control guidelines
  • Ensure all orders leave your department on time
  • Report any safety concerns to the supervisor/management
  • Maintain all shop equipment and report any failures or problems to your supervisor immediately

Skills/Experience:


  • Mechanically inclined
  • Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
  • Physically able to stand for the entire shift and handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
  • Experience working in a machine shop with grinding tools and drill press a plus
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Reliable
