THE ROLE


We are seeking an Analyst, University Sector Engagement to support engagement and outreach with potential new participating stakeholders, while raising UPP's profile in the sector.

The Analyst will support the development, building, and managing of relationships with stakeholders in the Ontario university sector, including unions and faculty associations, non-unionized employees, university administrators, and sector-based associations.


Reporting to the Associate Director, University Sector Engagement, the Analyst will conduct research, prepare presentation decks and background materials, and support outreach meeting logistics and coordination to help position UPP for growth and expansion.

The Analyst will also update and maintain the team's CRM tool.


The Analyst will draw on experience in the Ontario university sector, organized labour, public affairs, politics, public sector sales/business development, or similar role.

The Analyst will leverage their skills and experience to directly support UPP's engagement and growth strategy.

UPP is based in Toronto's financial district and has a hybrid work model (~2 days / week in office). This role may require occasional travel within Ontario.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Analyst, University Sector Engagement will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Support UPP engagement with a broad cross-section of stakeholders in the university sector including university administrators, union and faculty association leadership, individual faculty and staff, union staff, and interested third parties.
  • Conduct research and prepare presentation decks and background materials to support outreach efforts
  • Contribute to outreach meeting preparation and logistics coordination.
  • Support the communication and presentation of information about UPP, how it compares with an employer's current pension plan, and the features and benefits that may be most attractive to a particular stakeholder group in support of consideration for UPP as a possible pension solution.
  • Update and maintain the Engagement team's CRM tool.
  • Participate in internal strategy discussions related to sector engagement.
  • Contribute to UPP's reputation as a respectful employer, partner, and participant in the financial services sector.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


  • 1+ year of experience in supporting stakeholder relations in the Ontario university sector, organized labour, public affairs, politics, public sector sales/business development, or similar role
  • Experience creating PowerPoint decks and conducting indepth research
  • Knowledge of the Ontario university sector is an asset
