Job Description

You will provide maintenance on plant equipment to ensure operational and safe. This includes diagnosis of causes of breakdown, removal, rework, welding, machining, and installation of various components. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of pumps, bearings, compressors, valves, power transmissions, fans/ blowers and conveyor systems. This role will be to support production to ensure repairs are done efficiently and effectively, reducing downtime.

Requirements:

Valid Mechanical Millwright License 433A or 426A (Apprentices need not apply)
Valid Class G Drivers License
8+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment
MIG Welding experience, fitting and fabrication experience considered an asset
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations
Demonstrated knowledge of pumps, bearings, compressors, valves, power transmissions, fans/ blowers and conveyor systems
Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude, Ability to read and interpret machine manuals
Located in the Oakville/Mississauga area
Union facility
Great Benefit and RSP 47.94/hr. with shift premium for working night shift
Dayshift: 6:30am-6:30pm, Nightshift: 6:30pm-6:30am (Shift work and weekends are required)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $47.00-$49.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 – 50.00 per week

Schedule: Day shift - Monday to Friday, Night shift Weekends as needed

Additional Requirements:

Engineering Degree; Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or certified as a technologist (CET or AScT) by provincial/territorial professional association
Substantial experience of ten to twelve years in a managerial position within a manufacturing operation, preferably in a cement plant or related industry
Ensure the achievement of business goals aligned with the corporate objectives through managing execution of business plans
Champion new ideas and initiatives and create an environment that supports change and innovation
Effectively examine issues and generate solutions in a timely manner
Strong interpersonal skills
Ensure and/or contribute to the development of team members in order to meet current and future organizational goals
Fosters a sense of collaboration and work effectively across the organization to achieve goals
Proficient computer skills, including email and applications such as SAP and Excel
