    Who We Are

At KEV, we help school districts eliminate the school finance blind spot. Our platform gives district finance teams real-time visibility and traceability into every dollar collected at the school level; whether it's cash, check, or digital. From field trips to fundraisers, we help them manage every dollar with confidence. More than 26,000 schools across North America trust KEV to manage over $4 billion annually. By unifying payments, accounting, and reporting, KEV simplifies life for bookkeepers, builds trust with parents, and gives finance leaders the oversight their current systems cannot. It's how we help schools stay compliant, reduce risk, and focus on what matters most, student success.

Backed by Five Arrows, the PE arm of Rothschild & Co., KEV is investing more than ever to support K–12 in a world of tighter budgets, rising scrutiny, and fast-changing tech. We're headquartered in Toronto, with offices across North America.

If you're excited by the idea of building tech that protects schools, empowers finance teams, and improves education through better systems, KEV is the place for you.

    About the Role

The Payment team is integral to KEV's success, driving safety, reliability, and integrity of KEV Group's payment ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Payments Officer, this role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our payment operations, while ensuring ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory, operational, and technology standards creating the foundation for our growth.

We are looking for a Manager, Payment Growth and Compliance to join our growing team. In this role, this individual will monitor the changing landscape of payment regulations in Canada and the U.S., develop proactive mitigation and adaptation plans, and work closely with internal stakeholders to protect and grow KEV's payment operations and reputation. The role will also serve as a subject matter expert supporting Account Management, Customer Success, and Client inquiries related to payments.

The successful candidate will bring deep curiosity, analytical rigor, and creative problem-solving to navigate a rapidly evolving payments environment.

    How You'll Contribute

    • Identify and assess payment-related risks across vendors, technology platforms, and the external environment; develop and implement mitigation plans to reduce exposure.
    • Monitor and analyze regulatory and compliance changes (e.g., network, State/ Provincial, FINTRAC, Nacha/ Payments Canada updates) and assess their potential impact on KEV's business and clients.
    • Develop and execute compliance strategies that ensure KEV's payment operations remain aligned with industry standards and emerging requirements.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Payments, Product, Engineering, Account Management, and Customer Success to align risk and compliance efforts with operational priorities.
    • Manage escalations and inquiries from Account Managers and customers related to payment processes, regulatory changes, and risk-related issues.
    • Establish and maintain vendor oversight frameworks, including performance monitoring and issue resolution with payment processors, gateways, and banking partners.
    • Contribute to business continuity and incident response planning, ensuring preparedness for technology, operational, or environmental disruptions.
    • Prepare and present reports to leadership summarizing risk trends, compliance updates, and recommended actions.

    Who You Are

    • Strong understanding of either the Canadian or U.S. payment landscape, including key regulatory frameworks, financial institutions, and payment networks.
    • Experience in risk management, compliance, or operations within the payments, fintech, or financial services sectors.
    • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, able to influence without direct authority.
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with both technical and business audiences.
    • Demonstrated curiosity and creativity in addressing complex regulatory or operational challenges.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Bachelor's degree required (Business, Finance, or related field preferred); advanced degree considered an asset.
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in payments, risk, compliance, or financial operations.

    Success Metrics

    • Reduced operational and regulatory risk exposure across payment functions
    • Timely and effective response to regulatory and environmental changes
    • Improved internal and external confidence in KEV's payment reliability and compliance posture
    • Enhanced collaboration and responsiveness to customer and Account Management teams
