About the Opportunity:


The Master Scheduler leads the production planning & scheduling of fabricated and assembly products for ABI, drives process improvements in production and leads quality improvement through process, product, and design change identification.

The Master Scheduler is responsible to create optimized production schedules to ensure plant performance targets are met and fully meet customer needs while optimizing timing and efficiency.

Production Planning

  • Identify outsource requirements and schedule and manage with the procurement team in support of the production schedule
  • Monitor progress in each area, update the schedule, planning boards and address any slippage. Review the production schedule with the Production and Purchasing leaders to ensure the schedule is on track
  • Identify capacity imbalances or bottlenecks, and propose solutions. Identify and forecast when and where additional resources are required
  • Manage and approve all changes to the Production workload, reflecting the urgency of parts orders, engineering changes, and new orders
  • Investigate and implement alternatives to current business practices in order to improve the production planning processes.
  • Provide input to various groups to improve on existing processes outside the Production team
  • Own and create MPS for the plant
  • Maintain SAP planning parameters and item master elements as require (planning horizons, lead time, stock/buffer allocations)
  • Identify and optimize planning details for production families & adjust accordingly
  • Perform RCCP to ensure demand & supply parameters are balanced
  • Convert all planned orders into production orders via SAP
  • Communicate plan to the team
Process Improvement

  • Develop processes, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, safety and reduce costs. Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, problemsolving tools, poke yoke, improved material flow, Kaizen events, etc.
Readiness-to-Ship

  • Document completed new equipment before it is shipped, in order to confirm correct operation, provide a reference for onsite assembly, and to provide evidence of preshipping condition to Customers and Freight companies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who We Are Looking For:


  • Postsecondary education required (Diploma or Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering disciplines)
  • Previous manufacturing experience in a custom environment is essential
  • 5+ years of Production Planning and/or Production Scheduling is required
  • Experience scheduling lathe, milling, welding, mechanical and electrical assembly is required,
  • Knowledge and understanding of Engineering drawing office practices are beneficial
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques is a requirement
  • Experience in material handling and material coordination is an asset
  • Experience in equipment moving and plant layout is an asset
  • Experience with ERP systems is a requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detailoriented
  • Ability to work in a team setting and/or independently
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
  • Occasional business travel
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills
  • APICS CPIM certification required
