POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team on-site at our Markham location. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of all building related activities. In doing so, you will ensure that Diros Technology Inc. building is safe, well-maintained, and is in compliance with safety standards and environmental practices.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Maintenance and Operations

  • Develops, implements, and monitor property and preventative maintenance programs across the organization
  • Responds promptly to staff concern regarding facilityrelated matters by troubleshooting, performing minor repairs/moves/cleaning or when necessary, coordinating with 3rd parties.
  • Maintain all building services including office facilities, HVAC, electrical systems, safety and security in the most costeffective, timely manner.
  • Supervises and schedules activities (i.e., electrical, fire prevention, plumbing, HVAC, custodial, grounds maintenance and pest control services) of vendors when required and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure programing is not impacted.
  • Perform minor repairs (drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, grounds maintenance, cleaning, and other projects as required).
  • Ensure both the interior and exterior of the property are kept maintained, clean and orderly.
  • Monitor and purchase maintenance and cleaning supplies.
  • Provides direction, support and mentoring to the Cleaning and Maintenance Clerk and works closely with the Manufacturing
  • Site Leader.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation such as the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Canadian Standards Association, Technical Standards Association, and Electrical Safety Authority.
  • Be available and participate in oncall emergency response during evenings/weekends for building emergencies.
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all departments to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Ensures completion of all maintenance related records.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure staff are well trained in health and safety standards and proper environmental practices within the facility and the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure company Health and Safety scorecard is met on a monthtomonth basis
  • Co-Chair and lead all Joint Health and Safety Committee activities
  • Maintain knowledge of environmental and H&S legislation, best practices, trends, anticipate future needs and requirements and ensure a leadership for implementation of improvements.
  • Ensure the Incident Investigation process is followed and collaborate with the business leaders for the execution of the corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Analyze trends in EHS performance, prepare KPI's and reports and make recommendations to management team.
  • Ensure the risk management process is followed and collaborate with the business leaders to implement risk control measures.
  • Foster H&S culture by actively engaging with employees, addressing their concerns, and promoting a mindset where safety is a shared responsibility.
  • Plan and communicate regular weekly reporting and all internal H&S communications.
  • Analyze trends in EHS performance, prepare KPI's and reports and make recommendations to management team.
  • Ensure the risk management process is followed and collaborate with the business leaders to implement risk control measures.
  • Foster H&S culture by actively engaging with employees, addressing their concerns, and promoting a mindset where safety is a shared responsibility.
  • Plan and communicate regular weekly reporting and all internal H&S communications.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary education in relevant discipline (e.g. Facility Management, Occupational Health and Safety program).
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in facility operations.
  • 5+ years of proven success leading and managing a Health and Safety Program
  • Strong understanding of building infrastructure (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Safety, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation is an asset.
  • Maintenance experience and familiarity with building systems, building upkeep, structural issues, and grounds maintenance. Good knowledge of Fire Safety
