Maintenance Purchaser/Scheduler


Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Materials Specialist works in all aspects of materials management within the plant including but not limited to EDI and ERP systems, supervisor support, physical inventory, warehousing, launches, and customer service activities.


What does a Maintenance Purchaser/Scheduler do?

  • Monitor customer portals and ensure all requirements are being met. Acting as required to resolve issues or requirement shortfalls, including aspects relating to USMCA.
  • Be an integral part of product launches, including the availability of raw materials, ensuring BOMs and Routes are set up, dealing with obsolescence.
  • Will on occasion serve as the backup to the Shipping Supervisor including potential coverage on weekends, stat holidays, etc
  • Work with customers to develop strategic plans/systems to ensure steady supply of returnable dunnage.
  • Responsible for developing, assessing, or changes related to the maintenance of ISO14001 and IATF 16949 quality programs.
  • Responsible for managing 10,000sq/ft of offsite warehouse storage including the assessment and management of service part requirements, coordinating shipments, tools, space/organization, and inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for all inbound releases, analyzing available space, addressing space issues, and coordinating releases accordingly.
  • Work with a cross functional team to identify plant layout improvements, while managing/coordinating inbound freight to ensure adequate space for raw materials.
  • Interface with customers to generate quotes for service parts and coordinate with team to see through shipment of service parts.
  • Work with Engineering and customers to set up and adjust customer packaging
  • Develop and implement programs and strategies to improve adherence to CTPAT requirements.

What you bring to the table
Years of previous Materials/Warehouse Supervisory/Coordinating Experience (Tier 1 supplier experience is an asset).

Years of experience with MRP systems, Certification or willingness to work towards becoming a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).


  • Certified Forklift Driver is as asset (training available as needed).
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Familiarity with PLEX or other ERP systems is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:

-
$60, $75, Salary is dependent on experience)

  • Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as: Supervisor, Warehouse, Logistics, Materials, Specialist, Coordinator, Inventory, USMCA, Certified Supply Chain Professional, etc _

Pay:
$60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:


  • Materials/Warehouse: 3 years (preferred)
Supply Chain: 3 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (preferred)
  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
