    Description

    Job Description:
    Under the supervision of the Project Control Manager, the candidate will:

    # Understand the full project scope of work and key project planning milestones;
    # Assist in the development of capital cost studies, including the integration of data from all disciplines, for order of magnitude, pre-feasibility, feasibility and final estimates and/or scenarios;
    # Evaluate and document manhours and unit prices for materials required for project activities based on quantity take-offs received and best estimating practices;
    # Participate in the development of installation crew rates and labour productivity;
    # Segregate each item of a cost estimate into segments of a specific coding structure and assist in the analysis of the results;
    # Coordinate and document information exchanges between project stakeholders (engineers, project manager, planning, procurement, client);
    # Assist in the drafting and preparation of final documents, such as the basis of estimate, as well as presentations, ensuring the completion of the scope of work;
    # Contribute to the improvement of estimating procedures and processes, including database tracking and maintenance.


    Qualifications:

    Qualifications:
    # Completion of a technical or university program in engineering or construction, or other combination of experience and education;
    # Have more than 2 years experience as an estimator, with a background in estimating methods and techniques;
    # Eager to pursue a career in project estimating, including the desire to refine their knowledge and the drive to grow in the field;
    # Ability to manipulate and manage large data sets in various computer systems, especially in Microsoft Excel;
    # Be highly organized, rigorous and multi-task, as well as demonstrate initiative and good analytical skills;
    # Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills with an excellent work ethic;
    # Experience in the industrial or heavy industrial sector.

    # Knowledge of AACEI recommended practices;
    # Familiarity with the interpretation of a process flow diagram (PFD and P&ID);
    # Knowledge of construction methods and site requirements for project execution;
    # Have worked on medium to large scale projects (over 20M);
    # Knowledge of EPCM vs EPC project organization and project change management principles;
    # Specialty in mechanical, piping or electrical estimating & instrumentation;
    # Knowledge of planning, cost control and procurement.
