Job Overview:
We are seeking an
Expereinced and dedicated Clinical Counsellor to join our
Campbell River Team. The Clinical Counsellor provides professional counselling for people affected by various forms of trauma and abuse.
North Island Survivors' Healing Society (NISHS) provides a safe space for people from all walks of life to explore therapy with counsellors who are trained to alleviate the impact of post-traumatic stress.
Established in 1993, NISHS has evolved to offer a wealth of experience, expertise, and clinical resources. It is an excellent place to learn, expand your skills and to meaningfully contribute.
Regular clinical consultation and meetings with clinical team members is provided.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide indepth counselling and some that is shorter term.
- Participate in biweekly clinical team meetings.
- Participate in clinical consultation (provided.)
- Maintain client records in accordance with privacy laws and agency standards.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Consultant or the Executive Director when additional support is required.
- Group therapy is not a requirement, but may be an option for a motivated facilitator.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (4+ years experience)
- You possess a
Master's Degree in counselling and are registered or eligible for registration in a professional counselling association. - If your Master's Degree was completed outside of Canada, you are either registered with a professional counselling association in Canada or you have an international assessment of equivalency that is acceptable to the professional counselling associations.
- You uphold the ethical standards and codes of conduct required by this agency and the professional associations you belong to.
Compensation & Working Conditions
- Regular schedule and includes one evening per week
- Contract, no fixed term
- Vacation for employees is 6% year one, 8% starting year two
- Health/Wellness Benefits after 6 months
- Administrative tasks completed by administrative team members
- Collaborative professional relationship with Clinical Consultant
- Collaborative professional relationship with the NISHS team of Clinical Counsellors
- This position reports to the Executive Director
