Position:
Facilitator/Resource Room Career Advisor
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Location:
Vancouver South (YWCA WorkBC Centre)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- facilitate group-based workshops online and in-person to a variety of client groups, including
clients with multiple barriers to employment;
- work one to one with clients in-person in a drop-in employment resource centre and virtually to
assist them with job maintenance and employment related needs;
- be skilled at de-escalating behaviors in a group-based setting and resource centre;
- maintain up-to-date information on labour market trends, job postings, employment issues,
community resources, education planning, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant
employment related supports;
- conduct orientation tours of the resource centre, and liaise with case managers;
- be familiar with and able to work with clients using the latest technology;
- participate in community outreach, increasing awareness of workbc services;
- work as part of a team to deliver a comprehensive program designed to meet individual needs
of clients;
- work to ensure that participants are implementing their employment strategies;
- provide follow up and support to clients and document client contact and participation into
- ministry's ICM system;- research, organize, implement, monitor and document job search for clients; and
- other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- post-secondary certification via a relevant degree or diploma;
- experienced in developing curriculum and facilitating dynamic workshops;
- background in working with clients facing multiple barriers to employment;
- MBTI certification/B Level Assessment is an asset;

- strong technical skills with the ability to support clients in accessing and using technology to
participate in services; and
- a valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
Asset
Knowledge of languages other than English such as Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu etc.
