- Work closely with clients in the early conceptual stages of project initiation to ensure a strategic approach to project planning, setup and delivery
- Be a trusted advisor to the client, applying your understanding of planning, procurement, design, and construction of infrastructure
- Your clients will be impressed with your ability to represent their best interests regarding contractual and technical issues
- Your project teams will rely on your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget
- Demonstrate financial and business acumen
- Identify and escalate commercial, financial, or human resources issues to the Account Manager, Team Lead or Principal
- Lead programs of work and large capital projects varying in scope and complexity
- Delegate and oversee the delivery of multi-disciplined projects and project team performance
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients and respond to new business opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal or Regional Vice President
- Lead the implementation of training and tools in support of service delivery
- Lead business development and account management activities in the north and create a culture of quality
- A university degree in a relevant engineering, architecture, project management or construction management discipline
- 5 to 10 years of experience leading project management mandates of varying size and scope, involving multiple stakeholders (or a related mix of academic and practical experience)
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models, financial management, as well as relevant codes, contract law and legislation
- A broad written and verbal communication skill set including strong presentation, stakeholder facilitation and report writing skills
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and external industry subject matter experts
- Experience working in the North, building and nurturing long-term client relationships, and working collaboratively with local governments and First Nations is considered a strong asset
- Experience closing new business, winning key pursuits, and mentoring new employees
- Leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project, staff, and technical matters
- Demonstrated ambition and ability to develop and grow new business lines
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards
- Professional industry credentials such as PMP, ., CET, RA or other similar professional designation is considered a strong asset
