$30 per hour for certified teachers, $22.50 per hour for non-certified

Subject Coordinator and/or Director, Education Support Services (ESS)

Anglophone East School District
- We have 39 schools across the district and travel may be required between school/student locations. Please note that mileage will be paid.
Description:
Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) recognizes the right of all students to participate with peers in the common learning environment, and to learn and develop to their full potential.
Under specific conditions, a variation of the common learning environment may be necessary to address the needs of a student.
When such situations occur, tutoring will support students in a designated space, in the hospital or in the student's home environment.
Home/Hospital Tutors will work with students in consultation with classroom teachers, Education Support Services teams, and the school administration.The role of the tutor is to support student learning and education plan, provide feedback and assess the student's work.
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Organize, and deliver lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher(s)
- Maintain and complete ongoing accurate records of student progress
- Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility in the learning process
- Consult regularly with classroom teachers as well as ESS to provide appropriate support to students
- Attend schoolbased meetings when requested (with teachers and ESS team)
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children.
- Experience teaching or tutoring.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written English (French would be considered an asset)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
- Education requirements
- Certified Teachers (Bachelor of Education degree) or bachelor's degree
- Must be able to provide own transportation to tutoring location.
