Alleviate Physiotherapy, is a BUSY clinic located in a high-traffic area of Albion and Islington Inside the one of the largest Medical Centre in north etobicoke

  • Albion-Islington Medical Centre (Physician, Diagnostic Imagine and Pharmacy) offer various Multidisciplinary service
  • Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Acupuncturist, Naturopath and Osteopath.

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' foot disorders/dysfunctions and lower limb conditions through detailed examinations, medical histories and diagnostic tests
  • Assess clients for routine foot health and illness care, treating, and preventing disease, dysfunction or disorders of the foot by therapeutic, surgical, palliative or orthotic means, as well as prescribing medications within the scope of the license.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Ensure appropriate, comprehensive treatment is delivered by maintaining complete and accurate documentation in the electronic medical records system; participating in chart reviews and discussions of problem cases; and answering client enquiries and providing the appropriate treatment.
  • Provide expert advice on foot health, footwear selection and proper foot care practices to prevent future complications
  • Educate patients on proper foot hygiene, exercise, and preventive measures to promote overall foot health
  • Administer appropriate treatments, such as trimming and shaping nails, removing calluses and corns, providing basic lower limb wound care as well as performing minor surgical procedures including injection of prescribed medication (as required)
  • Collaborate with fellow chiropodists and/or other members of the team to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments and progress in accordance with medical standards and regulations
  • Performing Biomechanical assessments and gait analyses of the lower extremities, including muscle and joint function and provide optimal short and longterm treatment plans
  • Prescribe custom foot orthotics, custom footwear, and offtheshelf footwear as needed
  • Ensure instruments are reprocessed according to COCOO guidelines and Public Health standards
  • Keep uptodate with industry knowledge and innovative techniques to improve patient care

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Current and valid license with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment or clinical retail setting an asset
  • Prescription and injection privileges as per COCOO
  • Valid CPR and first aid certification
  • Proficiency using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Honed patient assessment and triage skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patientcentric care
  • Demonstrated flexibility and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a highpressure environment
  • Excellent conflict management and resolution skills
  • Experience working with lowincome, multiracial, multilingual newcomer communities
  • Demonstrated commitment to working from an integrated antioppression/ antiracist, LGBTQ+ positive framework
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team
  • Available to work evenings and weekends, as necessary

Experience:


  • Chiropodists: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:


  • Chiropodists license (required)
