The purpose of the Branch Manager is to direct, control, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the branch.This includes, but is not limited to, the receipt, storage, and display of products, preparing and processing orders, as well as all customer service-related activities.
It is the Branch Manager's responsibility to utilize the available resources in an efficient manner to support the company's goals and targets while maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive results through effective communication, collaboration, and accountability
- Manage attendance, vacation planning, payroll exceptions, and other employeerelated tasks and reports
- Responsible for all HRrelated functions including, but not limited to, hiring, training, monitoring, disciplining, and terminating employees
- Ensure adequate employee coverage, based on the seasonality of the branch
- Support, mentor, and assist employees with their career growth by providing and delivering strong leadership
- Lead continuous improvement efforts while embracing and managing change
- Where applicable, setup the retail layout to ensure effective space utilization and product promotion
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies
- Participate in the development and implementation of best business practices and standard operating procedures (SOP's)
- Complete all activities within the assigned branch budget
- Ensure pricing and margin parameters are adhered to
- Work with the Purchasing team to ensure the proper product min/max's are in place, seasonality fluctuations are accounted for, and the product mix is in line with the customers current needs
- In conjunction with the Purchasing team, identify slow moving / dead stock and create action plans to mitigate any potential loses
- Positively represent the Ted Group, both internally and externally
- Foster a positive work environment that increases employee engagement
- Coordinate with the Sales team daily to ensure customer service expectations are being met
- Support the presale effort by providing quotes and proposals with all the relevant information and documentation
- Support the postsale effort by maintaining positive customer relationships and assisting in the discovery of future opportunities
- Where applicable, represent the branch in the broader community (trade shows, car shows, etc.)
- Ensure timely maintenance of the building and equipment
- Assist in the implementation of marketing plans and promotions
- Keep up to date on market conditions, industry, and product knowledge
- Monitor and ensure a safe work environment through process/procedure/regulation adherence
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience as a retail manager or similar role
- Experience within wholesale distribution and/or autobody distribution considered an asset
- Bachelor's degree in business management, or a similar field preferred
- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Experience implementing process improvement initiatives
- Strong decision making and problemsolving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments
- Collaborative team member with proven managerial skills
- Ability to overcome challenges and handle complex situations
- Experience leading teams and driving performance
- Ability to achieve business goals and effectively communicate the company's strategy
- Experience delivering consistent, constructive feedback, in a fair and positive manner
- Thorough understanding of the local business climate
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment
- Manual dexterity required to operate computer and peripherals
- Interacts with employees, various management levels and the public at large
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
