Department Overview

Capital Markets Operations is at the core of TD Securities.

We are a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the Dealer, including Sales & Trading to provide banking, securities and asset management services to clients globally.

The FX Global Capital Markets Operations team manages the FX middle office, trade confirmations and settlements workflow.

The team is responsible for the operational risk management of the Dealer's foreign exchange trading activities, including support of all foreign exchange products traded by our FX Sales & Trading desks in North America, Europe and Asia.

Our objectives are to maximize efficiency and control, recognize and mitigate risks, identify commercial opportunities, drive industry best practices and standards as well as enhance the overall client experience.

Capital Markets Operations recruits highly motivated individuals who can help the Dealer and our clients facilitate business. Professionals in Capital Markets Operations come from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. The analyst is required to be dynamic and client service oriented with a key focus on risk and control.

Our analysts are expected to think creatively, improve the daily process and take responsibility and ownership for this to happen.

The role also requires the ability to switch seamlessly between multiple activities and significant interaction with clients, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a definite asset.

Job Details

  • Risk manage confirmations and settlements for FX transactions
  • Proactively work with external clients and other dealers to resolve economic discrepancies on FX
  • Actively partner with internal teams, including Sales & Trading, Credit, Technology and other operations teams to ensure timely confirmation and settlement
  • Accurate and timely settlement of FX trades and cashflows with adherence to the internal payment policy and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and clean post settlement workflows, including breaks and failed trades
  • Resolution and escalation of all client disputes and queries
  • Project and initiative management and participation within the team and across regions
Internal

  • Establish relationships with internal partners, brokers, clients, custodians and vendors to streamline workflows wherever possible
  • Maintain department procedures and provide regular management reporting to Operations senior management and the business
Job Requirements

  • University or college degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 24 years of experience in capital markets, preferably within a fastpaced Client Service/Operations role.
  • Indepth knowledge of FX products, including Spot/Forwards, Swaps, Non-Deliverable Forwards and OTC FX Options.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); technical proficiency in Excel is a must, including VBA (able to understand macros) and SQL (can write simple queries)
  • Working knowledge of programming tools, such as Alteryx, Python and UiPath is a definite asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to deal with multiple complex issues at the same time while meeting client deadlines

  • Experience with Murex is a definite asset
