We are hiring for multiple locations available across Canada


Please Note:

This job will require travel throughout multiple cities in your province with the possibility of other cities in your part of the country.

(For example, if you're located in Ontario, you'll be working throughout Ontario and possibly Eastern Canada.)


Responsibilities Include:


  • Installation, wiring, assembly, and maintenance of railway signals and communications equipment
  • Perform trenching for cable distribution and installation of equipment foundations
  • Construction of S&C equipment such as wayside signals, switch machines, crossing warning systems, defect detector systems, etc.
  • Perform regular inspections, testing of operations, and preventative maintenance on various electronic and mechanical signals and communications equipment
  • Diagnose problems and repair all types of S&C electronic and mechanical systems and devices
  • Perform mechanical relay testing, insulation resistance testing for wires, and testing for electrical shorts to ground.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Heavy Equipment such as forklifts, backhoe's, passenger vehicles, 5ton trucks
  • Report to the S&C Foreman & Superintendent
  • Work well individually, as well as in a team environment for both construction and maintenance of S&C equipment
  • Maintain documents, records, and reports as required

Working Conditions:


The work you are assigned in this role is performed outdoors in various types of weather, environmental conditions as well as in remote locations.

Assigned work shifts will vary and will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The role required being available to respond to critical incidents and accidents on a rotational basis. The role also requires travel which will include overnight assignments away from home.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum of 2 years' experience installing and/or maintaining S&C systems
  • Grade 12 diploma (or a recognized equivalent) required
  • Railway experience and basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals is an asset
  • Previous railway experience is an asset
  • Must provide valid driver license and abstract
  • Must declare any criminal record
  • Must possess valid eRail certification
  • Work within our safety guidelines & policies
  • Willing to travel and work in remote locations
  • Willing to work in extreme weather conditions (hot & cold)
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lb
  • Must be able to work shift work
