Position Overview:

The Systems Support Team Lead is responsible for the effective operation of IT services across the organization; The Systems Support Team Lead oversees IT project management, and resource management; The Systems Support Team Lead is responsible for communicating with the executive team, business unit leaders, and end users; The Systems Support Team Lead is accountable for IT strategic and tactical planning, as well as identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology resources that will support corporate goals and objectives;


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage local data centers;
  • Responsible for every aspect of the handson daytoday support of the IT Systems Hardware and Software (Servers, Workstations, Network components, and peripherals);
  • Direct responses to user resource/account requirements and advise management of any issues affecting the functioning of the IT systems;
  • Handson hardware and software troubleshooting and performance tuning;
  • Upgrade Hardware and Software as required and maintain configuration logs of all changes/modifications;
  • Maintain software licensing and hardware maintenance/warranty records;
  • Ensure proper maintenance of user accounts and access to systems;
  • Ensure software systems are adequately supported through IT staff knowledge and availability;
  • Plan, develop, and manage all IT services, programs, and support throughout the enterprise;
  • Assist senior management with the direction and facilitation of IT strategic and tactical planning;
  • Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and enduser productivity;
  • Assist in developing and managing a budget for technology, IT services, and personnel;
  • Must understand the business functions as they relate to the database file structures and information flow within the system;
  • Ensure the maintenance of user accounts and security permissions;
  • Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers;
  • Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities;
  • Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job;
  • Other duties as required;
  • Complete all applicable quality records;
  • Perform work by companydocumented policies and procedures.

Education:


  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred;
  • Certificate or diploma from a technical school and training equivalent required;
  • Combination of education and experience.

Experience:


  • 5+ years experience working in an MS Windows environment supporting Servers 2008, 2012 & 2016, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Microsoft IIS, TCP/IP, DHCP, and Windows 7, 10;
  • Prior experience dealing in Microsoft AX & implementation of new SAP ERP highly desirable;
  • Business experience in an industrial production/manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge/Experience of Kanban systems, ISO procedures & work instructions, and Lean Principles is a benefit;
  • Experience with vendor relations, obtaining proposals and bids;
  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager a plus; Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
  • Experience in information and management reporting.

Physical:


  • Regularly required to stand walk or sit;
  • Use hands to operate computers and office equipment;
  • Use vision and hearing to deal with communication and office materials.

Language:


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public;
  • Ability to make decisions, give clear and concise directions and carry them out.

Computer skills:


  • Previous experience with an ERP system with a sound understanding of the file structures;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on exceptional skills in Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and database/processing software.

Certifications/Licenses/ Permits:


  • MCSE certified an asset.
