Responsibilities:

(a) Perform pre-shift inspection and record results.

(b) Perform proper machine cleaning procedures at end of shift.

(c) Review orders and drawings to determine requirements.

(d) Determine proper door skins.

(e) Lay-out and weld 'stiffners' on 'top and bottoms' as required.

(f) Insulate between 'stiffners'.

(g) Assemble and weld doors.

(h) Cut out Thermal Kits, Glazing Track, Glass Stop.

(i) Produce order quantity as required.

(j) Inspect all finished doors for flatness and surface quality.

(k) Skid and label all product produced.

(l) Perform other tasks as assigned.

(m) Check and spot weld locks, hinges, and end channels

(o) Cut end channels when required and check for skin alignment.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

(a) Experience with MIG welding is an asset.

(b) Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

(c) Ability to accurately read measuring instruments, such as a measuring tape in imperial units.

(d) Knowledge and ability to set up machinery as required.

(e) Ability to read production orders and drawings.


Nice to have:

• Willing to train within the trade.
• Metal Fabrication industry experience, an asset.
