Description
We are looking for a Product Development and Innovation Manager to support & join our team full time.

This position is responsible for designing and developing new products and improving existing products so that we can effectively meet customers' needs.

Doing so, it is essential you keep up to date with the current consumer and manufacturing trends to identify key requirements for a new product or a product improvement.

The successful applicant will directly oversee and continually optimize the End-to-End Product Development Process.

They must work in conjunction with Premium Global Foods' Logistics, Operations, Sales and QA/QC teams to deliver quality, innovation and speed-to-market in Frozen and Shelf Stable Vegetables and Grains.

This person must be able to understand retailer needs and customize innovation concepts to retailers needs. They will also be required to present to customers and be involved in sales.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Continuous research & analysis of the latest styles & market trends

Following guidelines, attentions to detail & constant liaison with QA and Operations teams

Select and develop new product concepts that align with sales and brand requirement

Support the development of new products, while considering specifications such as raw materials, species, specifications, thermal processing, nutrition requirements, cost, flavour profile, and manufacturing capabilities

Manage projects from concept phase to completion in plant production

Working in the plant with manufacturing teams to produce a quality product as per specifications.


Role Requirements:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree, Food Science, or related
  • Minimum years of
Experience Required: 7-10 years in a food development and sales environments

  • Understanding and experience with Vegetables (fresh, frozen or canned); Canning (vegetables, soups, sauces); Grains (such as rice)
  • Working knowledge and comfort with execution of Canadian food labeling requirements, including food grading and import regulations
  • Knowledge of distribution and handling of products within Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Retail Environments
  • Experience working with offshore manufacturers and balancing different cultures and time zones
  • Able to work effectively as an individual with mínimal supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines
  • Able to influence and interact effectively with all levels at customer, copacker, and office locations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective and practical problemsolving skills
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to work quickly, change priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced work environment
  • Overseas International Travel will be required several times a year. Some local and national travel will also be required. Requires use of personal vehicle.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects with international production facilities

Job Types:

Salary:
$90,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
