PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a member of the Facilities & Maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for our restaurant portfolio including general carpentry, basic plumbing, troubleshooting of food equipment issues and preventative maintenance for HVAC, gas and electrical equipment.
SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE:
Soul Restaurants has over 230 Restaurants and Cafes throughout Canada with the majority being in Ontario.
The Maintenance Technician will have accountability for managing the day to day maintenance and repairs for our restaurant portfolio and will work with Soul Restaurants key stakeholders, brand partners and external partners to co-ordinate and deliver the company objectives.
POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventive maintenance program and departmental procedures
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment; perform a variety of plumbing maintenance tasks as required
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the various mechanical roof top operating systems, including HVAC systems, air conditioning systems, etc. Change HVAC and air conditioning filters as needed
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on food equipment, refrigeration as needed
- Perform regular workplace inspections to determine areas that need maintenance or repair
- Ensure that any required maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner
- Inspect the premises for burnt out light bulbs ensure these are replaced immediately
- Replace/repair both interior and exterior doors / door locks
- Perform general aesthetic upkeep which can include painting, basic carpentry, or landscaping
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures
- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- Oversee outside contractors and technicians to ensure timely service and performance.

Directly impact the continued/uninterrupted operation of Soul Foods Group businesses through providing continuous maintenance support for restaurants. Facilitate the strong flow of communication between all external and internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance spend/projects are executed on time and cost effectively

Experience
- Minimum 35 years of relevant maintenance/construction experience
- Highly effective communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Hold a valid Driver's License
- Excellent planning and time management
- Team player and able to execute alone
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary:
$17.05-$32.43 per hour
