Job Summary


Reporting to the Manager, Planning, Evaluation and CQI, the Data and Policy Analyst is responsible for providing advice and support in the development of data tracking mechanisms to support the Continuous Quality Improvement, Risk Management and Compliance in the 8 Long Term Care Homes.

Providing support to the CQI Advisors to make data information decisions and recommendation, the position will provide research, data analytics, decision support, program planning and evaluation.

The Analyst will provide advice and support the development and implementation of program and policy changes in LTC.


Education:


  • A postsecondary degree in Social Science, Health Science, Public Health, Human Service or Public/Business Administration or related discipline
  • University level credits related to research methods, statistical analysis and/or data collection required
  • A graduate diploma or certificate related to data collection and statistical analysis or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, is preferred

Knowledge:


  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with data analysis and performance measurement, preferably connected to health, safety and wellbeing initiatives
  • Knowledge in PointClickCare an asset
  • Experience with research/analysis, strong organization skills and an ability to facilitate meetings and group processes
  • Highly proficient in both program and strategic planning methodologies; performance measurement and evaluation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Outstanding oral/written communication skills, advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Possess strong facilitation and presentation skills; and, be able to translate knowledge to a wide range of audiences
  • Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS) and programming (e.g. VBA) is an asset
  • Experience with research methods and practices including statistical reliability and sample size calculations and statistical power is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Provincial agencies on grant management

Responsibilities:


_ Research and Data Collection, Analysis and Reporting (40% of time)_:

  • Conduct best practice research and environmental scan of evidence-based prevention and intervention initiatives
  • Assess and preprocess data for modelling.
  • Review quantitative data, to identify risks
  • Develop data tracking mechanism and performance tracking database for visualization of trends (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Monitor trends and assess statistical data in ord
