Logistics & Inventory Coordinator


Location: 290 Sovereign Road

Contract Position

  • With two London locations totaling over 150,000 square feet with up to 40ton overhead crane capacity, over 30 large modern CNC machines with 5 axis capabilities, and a 24hour operation manned by expert and committed human capital. ADJ Industries Inc. is a leader in its industry. ADJ _

Position Overview:

The Logistics & Inventory Coordinator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for reception duties at
Sovereign plant, the shipping and receiving function, as well as inventory control, for both ADJ Facilities.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Shipping:


  • Completes and reviews all necessary shipping documents for shipments within Canada, US, Mexico and overseas including but not limited to Bills of Lading, B13's, Foreign Receivers Report, Packing Slips, and
Commercial Invoices.

  • Maintains adequate shipping records for reporting and tracking; and maintaining filing of shipping documents electronically and paper based.
  • Contacts logistics companies to arrange for outbound shipping of goods.
  • Organizes shipments with local carriers including UPS, and Purolator.
  • Manages the Transfer/Disposal record of Controlled Goods.
  • Works with other business units on inventory and logistics planning to support continuous improvements.
  • Oversees Production Associates to load truck and trailers with proper goods for shipment.

Receiving:


  • Receives shipments, verifies information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, or other records, and documents any discrepancies or damage.
  • Oversees Production Associates to unload truck and trailers with proper goods for acceptance.
  • Properly records received shipments and forwards documentation to appropriate personnel.
  • Conducts part identification, labels incoming shipments, and stages material in designated locations in the warehouse before consumption.
  • Responsible for recording transfers between company locations and maintaining a log of all movements.
  • Responsible for movement of inventory from staged outside locations to other locations (inside/outside), and documenting transactions.
  • Arranges internal shipments and pickups by external shipping companies where required.

Inventory:


  • Assists in cycle counts and full physical inventory as needed.
  • Responsible for managing, and maintaining daily inventory, orders, and accounting for tooling vending machines.

Support Activities:


  • Assists with Companies ISO
  • International Organization for Standardization certification, audits, and training.
  • Backup to Materials Control Manager for any vacation and absences. To be trained in Customer Service and Production Planning functions.
  • Acts as Sovereign Plant receptionist. Answers company telephone, screens phone calls, and forwards to appropriate personnel.
  • Answers reception door, welcomes guests, and follows guest signin procedure.

Administration

  • Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.
  • Sets a positive example by maintaining a respective attitude, cooperating with coworkers, management, and internal and external customers.
  • Be a productive team member and help to meet established departmental and Company goals.
  • Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required.
  • Report any personal workplace injuries to direct supervisor immediately.
  • Report safety issues to direct supervisor or Human Resources as soon as possible.
  • Report to work for your regularly scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.
  • Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Effectively gives and receives feedback and willingly asks questions and seeks direction when needed.
  • Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:


  • Must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application as per Section 15 of the Controlled Goods Regulations, SOR/
  • College Diploma or Certificate in Business related program or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in shipping, receiving or inventory management.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP System experience recommended.
  • Experience with data entry, documentation, inventory control and reporting.
