Overview:
Duties:
- Oversee all operational aspects of Norwood Nursery School's 75space child care center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children.
- Lead the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff, fostering a supportive and growthoriented work culture.
- Ensure adherence to the Best Practices Licensing Manual for Early Learning and Child Care Centers, promoting highquality care and safety standards.
- Regularly communicate progress and achievements toward the Board's mission and objectives, promoting transparency and accountability.
- Cultivate strong relationships with children, parents, and guardians, fostering trust and collaboration within the center's community.
- Champion initiatives that prioritize employee satisfaction, professional development, and worklife balance, in alignment with the values and ethos of the Board of Directors.
- Provide handson support during staff breaks or absences to maintain appropriate childtostaff ratios, while actively engaging with staff and children to support program delivery and continuity.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) III certification with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or administrative role within an Early Learning & Child Care setting.
- Proficiency in Child Care Pro, QuickBooks, Payworks, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to adapt to new software and technologies such as Apple Mac, Gmail, Canva, and other relevant platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in health and safety protocols, creating engaging learning environments for children of various age groups, and proficient program and staff management skills.
- Proven track record of successfully securing grants, subsidies, or financial supports to enhance center operations.
- Thorough knowledge of Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care (MELCC) reporting and licensing requirements.
- Competency in financial and administrative practices within a nonprofit or charitable organization setting.
- Effective leadership and organizational capabilities, with a demonstrated understanding of cultural sensitivity in interactions with diverse staff, children, and families.
- Uptodate knowledge of contemporary human resources practices.
- Ability to cultivate respectful relationships with program staff, the Norwood Community Centre, and Nordale School Administration.
- Collaborative and transparent work ethic, with professionalism in reporting to the Board of Directors.
- Possession of a valid Manitoba Driver's License.
- Commitment to adhering to and managing all Manitoba Public Health orders affecting daycares, as applicable.
