How will you contribute to the team?

  • Identify potential claim events and prepare notifications and claim documents as necessary.
  • Coordinate the efforts to negotiate and resolve claims with the Client's Claim Department and lead the discussions and other resources when needed.
  • Draft claims and claims responses for the Client, including Extension of Time, prolongation, acceleration and disruption claims.
  • Protect the Client's best interest as required and defend claims from the contractors in conjunction with commercial strategy.
  • Manage, maintain and report claim files, with claim status reports to Management Team on a regular basis.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective action in response to delay and claim events.
  • Coordinate with other project team members to identify client exposure and actions, which may result in contract changes or claims.
  • Participate in project related meetings; work closely with the different teams including: designers, design project managers and project controls teams.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance.
  • Provide principal support to the Project management team in the effective administration of the prime contract between EJV and its client DBJV.
  • Take appropriate actions to protect EJV interest.
  • Ensure compliance with prime contract terms and conditions.
  • Identify and prepare comprehensive claims documentation and coordinate the efforts to negotiate and help to resolve claims with the Design Built Joint Venture (DBJV).
  • Prepare, maintain, retrieve, and communicate records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate and Contract Management requirements.
  • Draft contractual commitment documents, particularly responding to contractual letters.
  • Close coordination with planning and change management team.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 10+years of contract / claims management experience, preferably management of prime contract in heavy civil/infrastructure projects.
  • Membership of CIQS, RICS, CIArb or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with peers, management, subcontractors and client.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong handson experience with computer systems and MS Office tools especially Word and PowerPoint. P6 is a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience in compiling, finalising, defending and winning claims.
  • Understanding of alternative dispute resolution techniques.
  • Highly organized and ability to process and efficiently manage numerous claim.
  • Experience in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of changes, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
  • Thorough understanding of P3 Contracts in engineering/construction industry and the flowdown of applicable clauses and requirements, and preferably hands on experience on alternate procurement methods.
  • Good understanding of delay analysis methodologies and their utilization in claims.
