Working along with other Health Care Professionals, the Laboratory Assistant I will provide Laboratory support to the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

The primary responsibilities include phlebotomy for adults, children and infants using both macro and micro techniques, performing urinalysis accessioning patient specimens, troubleshooting problem specimens, and reception duties.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience with EPIC Beaker Laboratory Information System and recent experience with phlebotomy is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience with Urinalysis is preferred. Recent experience with data entry, specimen processing and troubleshooting is preferred. Recent experience using Rover is preferred.
