    Description
    Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
    # Perform the function and role of Head Meat Cutter.
    # Lead, train and supervise all staff in Meat department.
    # Manage and maintain consistent buying and selling policies as per association standards.
    # Direct the preparation of sales and promotion events.
    # Maintain competitive prices and initiate price checks.
    # Comply with all CFIA government standards applicable to the Meat Department.
    # Ensure a high level of prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
    # Responsible for all food safety, cleaning, sanitizing and housekeeping regulations and association standards
    # Responsible for merchandising, budgeting, inventories, human resources and customer relations.
    # Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise in department meets all the Co-operative's standards.
    # Review and analyse the operating statements related to the department, in order to ensure efficient operating and initiate immediate corrective action where necessary.
    # Maintenance of the Co-operative's equipment, merchandising fixtures and premises.
    # Ensure all policies and procedures of the Co-operative are communicated and maintained.
    # Other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    Candidates will have 5+ years of experience in a Meat Department.
    Meat Cutter certification is required.

    Preference would be given to candidates who have experience as a team leader, supervisor or mentor and also have experience working within a complex, high volume, retail setting.

    Experience within the Co-op retail system would be considered an asset, in addition to CRS Candidates whom have completed or are completing Advance Training.
