What you'll be doing


The Analyst, STR Fulfillment, is responsible for supporting the execution of the FIU's regulatory submissions as it relates to AML investigative work.

The Analyst is accountable for completing the data entry component of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) in support of the EAML investigative teams.

The Analyst validates the completeness of all transactional data captured and ensures that the appropriate documentation is submitted to the STR filing team as soon as practicable.

The Analyst is also responsible for creating a partnership with the investigative teams in order to communicate potential data quality issues when they arise and for helping to determine a path of resolution, where required.

The Analyst enhances and maintains technological tools used throughout the data entry process and interacts with various AML business partners to help streamline data entry and to improve overall data quality across the investigative function.

Proactively identify any errors or omissions contained within the transaction data prior to sending to the STR filing team. Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate findings to external team members in the FIU, as required.

Operational excellence - Identify opportunities to improve data entry operational effectiveness and to facilitate implementation. Coordinates with AML partners to recommend process enhancements to help improve operational resiliency from a data entry perspective.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • You can demonstrate experience in AML and the systems required to complete the data entry component of STR report submissions to FINTRAC; or you have previous experience of a minimum of 2 years in data entry, preferably in a regulatory environment. It is an asset if you have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VBA, macros etc.)
  • You have strong knowledge of Canadian AML/ATF laws and regulations, and a working knowledge of AML/ATF laws and regulations of jurisdictions in which CIBC entities operate. Solid judgment and problemsolving skills in order to provide input and advice on AML for best compliance and risk management solutions.
