Description:
The Team Lead of primarily oversees the Benefits team (9 employees) and providing additional support, leadership, and assistance.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assisting in the development of annual business plans for Benefits teams which including outcomes, success measures, and key performance metrics.

Supervising a team of benefit assistants and advisors. Managing team relationships and individual performance, coaching, and assisting with the recruitment of all staff. Leading system testing initiatives, annual benefit campaigns, and other required projects. Resolving issues and providing input on process improvement opportunities relating to systems, programs, and business processes. Developing and executing reports to ensure data integrity and accuracy of data. Overseeing the timely and accurate processing of benefit transactions for all AHS employees and its affiliates. Participating in the strategic development and planning for both short and long terms plans within HR Shared Services.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with HRSS Leadership, all areas of HRSS, Finance, Centres of Expertise, various unions, as well as external providers such as Alberta Blue Cross and Manulife.

Evaluating and providing input into policies, procedures, business processes, employee handbooks, and training manuals as they pertain to pension.

Collaborating on the implementation of terms and conditions of employment and collective agreement updates for all HR systems and processes.

Required Qualifications:


A minimum of 5 years progressive benefits experience in an organization of significant size and complexity, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.


Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required.


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor Degree in Human Resources (or a related discipline), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), or Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) certification.

A combination of experience and education will be considered. PeopleSoft experience is preferred. Expertise in public sector HR administration, project management, business process improvement, or quality assurance.
